Ohio Department of Education announces planned launch of readiness assessments and provides information and resources to promote family engagement

Today, the Ohio Department of Education announced plans to make available a suite of online readiness assessments aligned with Ohio’s Learning Standards for schools to use at the start of the 2020-2021 school year. These assessments are optional and intended as a resource for schools that are seeking ways to benchmark student progress at the start of the new academic year. Please check the Readiness Assessment webpage for more information.

Additionally, as schools work to promote family engagement during this time of so much uncertainty, the Department has published a Family Engagement Resource webpage. Please check this site for information and considerations to help schools and families form strong partnerships in the effort to promote student success.

Starting a new school year during a pandemic is not an easy thing. Thank you for everything you are doing to keep Ohio’s students safe and successful this year!
